Brazil & UK Connections
Tupinambas
Seeds of Forrest
In the past five years, we have been developing a connection with the Tupinambá people, an indigenous tribe from Bahia, specifically based in Ilhéus. Even before we brought all our projects under the umbrella of LANDAHOY, this relationship has been a key part of our journey.
Brazil & UK Connections
Over the years, artist Claudio Kron has made multiple trips to Brazil, immersing himself in the culture and building a deeper connection with the Tupinambá people.
Alongside him, activist and professor Ata Xoha (pictured on the left) has played a pivotal role in strengthening the bond between their community and West Yorkshire.
Together with key figures in Brazil, including Cacique Sussuarana Murubixaba, Professor Arakuan, Community Leader Araponga Su, and singer and environmentalist Zenrique, their collaborative efforts have fostered a rich exchange of ideas, traditions, and values.
We are now in the process of developing a comprehensive strategy aimed at creating something truly meaningful for both communities.
By recognizing the unique circumstances and challenges faced by each, we aspire to bridge the gap between these two cultures, creating a project that not only connects them but also celebrates their shared humanity, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration.
